Here at Bentonville Brewing Company, our brewers use an enzyme, called Brewers Clarex, for some of the beers. This enzyme helps with clarity, shelf stability, and gluten reduction. According to our supplier, “[a] Brewers Clarex treated beer made from barley or wheat will typically test below 20 ppm of gluten, which is the international threshold for brewing considered gluten free.” Our own findings are that people that are sensitive to gluten and wheat are able to enjoy our beer with less irritation, including one of our very own brewers. We still do not recommend these beers to people who suffer from celiac disease. Please note that not all of BB’s beers are treated with the enzyme, including most seasonal offerings. The following are always treated with Brewers Clarex: Homewrecker IPA, Lil’ Wrecker IPA, Soulshine Kolsch, Natural State Porter, Trailhead, Lawyers, Hogs, & Money, Redheaded Stranger, and Hills & Hollers Amber Lager. Roundabout Stout, Mocha Roundabout Stout, & our Experimental Strange Sour Series all contain lactose. All the rest of our beers are vegan friendly.
